How long does it take to build a deck?

A 12×16 ft pressure-treated deck takes 3–6 days for a 2-person crew. Composite or hardwood decking takes 4–8 days because of slower screw rate and seam care. Permits add 1–4 weeks of lead time before crew arrives. Raised decks with stairs add 1–2 days. Footing inspection (required in most jurisdictions) adds a half-day if inspector is responsive, up to 5 days if not.
