HEEHRA (the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate Act, IRA Section 50122) is a federal-funded, state-administered point-of-sale rebate program for income-qualified households. Households under 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) for their county receive 100% rebate up to category caps; 80–150% AMI receive 50%; above 150% AMI are ineligible. Maximum total stack is $14,000 across categories: $8,000 heat pump, $1,750 heat-pump water heater, $4,000 electrical panel upgrade, $2,500 wiring, $1,600 insulation/weatherization. Rebates are applied as a discount on your installer's invoice, not as a rebate check months later. Rollout is state-by-state — some states are live (NY, MA, CA), others are still in pilot or pending.
